OLIVE - Maine Street Jazzmen
Vocals
Olive is a excellent singer with a warm sound, and a good ear, and is equally at home singing ballads, standards, light pop music, as well as traditional jazz, and big band arrangements.
She currently sits in with the band on several of our gigs, and her performances are always well received.
In fact she recently received some excellent feedback on her performances in 2008 from a pair of notable visiting jazz artists,whilst the band was accompanying Roy Williams (trombone), and also when the band was accompanying John Crocker (clarinet).
Olive regularly used to sit in with a trio featuring the late great Ronnie Pipe on piano, who encouraged her greatly and also wrote several arrangements for her.
